Daniella Karagach and Jason Mraz are sick.
The Season 32 couple will give their all on the live show on November 21, 2023 after both struggled with illnesses during the week of rehearsals.
“Dancing With the Stars” pro Daniella Karagach gave fans an update on her and her partner Jason Mraz ahead of Taylor Swift Night, explaining that they both came up with something that really impacted their practices — and their social media presence – had an impact.
“We were MIA,” Karagach said in a video posted to her Instagram Stories on November 19, 2023. “Because two of us were sick,” she tried to say with a cough as Mraz made her laugh. “Anyway, we’ve both been sick for a week. And we feel terrible. But we will be there on Tuesday,” she continued, starting to cough again.
Now some fans fear that Karagach and Mraz’s illnesses could harm them as they were unable to give 110%. Many are hoping to come together to give Karagach and Mraz the votes they need to advance to the semi-finals.
Here’s what you need to know:
Fans come together to vote for Jason Mraz and Daniella Karagach
Every week, fans take to social media to share who they want to vote for, even before they see the couples perform. This week, fans are really hoping to help Mraz and Karagach get through another week of competition.
“Ugh, that sucks! It’s like season 9 all over again!! Something is happening. I myself was sick three times this fall! Jason still has my votes no matter what!! Poor guy,” one person commented in a Reddit thread.
“Ah no. I really feel sorry for you. Having the flu sucks. I hope you’re okay at the dance tomorrow,” someone else added.
“Ugh, I’m nervous for her.” said a third Redditor.
“I was really hoping for a big comeback week for Jason and Daniella. They both seem so sick. I hope they continue to do a good job.” a fourth wrote.
Harry Jowsey also battled his illness this week
It sounds like some nausea is spreading among the Dancing With the Stars cast, as Karagach and Mraz aren’t the only ones feeling unwell. Season 32 hopeful Harry Jowsey has also come up with something.
“Good morning my loves,” Jowsey captioned a video on his Instagram Stories on November 20, 2023. Jowsey wore a “Tree Stump” T-shirt and sounded hoarse. He took a moment to ask people to consider voting for him and his partner, Rylee Arnold.
“We really want to be here. And I’m a little sick, but we’re doing better,” he said.
Whoever makes it to Week 10 is officially in the semifinals. The remaining couples, alongside Mraz and Karagach and Jowsey and Arnold, are Alyson Hannigan and Sasha Farber, Charity Lawson and Artem Chigvintsev, Ariana Madix and Pasha Pashkov, and Xochitl Gomez and Valentin Chmerkovskiy.
According to The Messenger, the semi-finals will be broadcast on November 28, 2023. From there, the top three couples will compete to be crowned Season 32 champions and take home the coveted Mirrorball Trophy. The finale will air on December 5, 2023.
