Daryl’s iconic line in The Walking Dead finale has wowed online fans

One of the most intriguing aspects that comes with following a television series is revealing hidden Easter eggs and tiny clues that point to the core details of the show, which apparently includes the mere mention of the show’s title during an actual episode. That is exactly what was happening at the time the Walking Dead‘s series finale, which aired last night in the United States.

During the aforementioned episode, fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon finds himself in a complicated predicament where he travels to Governor Pamela Milton’s sheltered community after Judith Grimes is shot and injured. According to ComicBook.com, the iconic line in question references Daryl proclaiming, “We’re not the walking dead,” cleverly dropping the show’s memorable title.

As many fans know, this dialogue pays homage to a similar line uttered by Rick Grimes earlier in the series, in which Grimes insists that “we are the walking dead” to his loyal group of survivors. However, in typical Daryl fashion, he prefers to fight back against the chains and refuses to join the traditional position of leader.

In response to Daryl’s quote, the internet was left in complete shambles, with a plethora of reactions that hinted at excitement.
