TV’s biggest night is upon us once again. The 74th Primetime Emmy Awards comes next Monday, honoring dozens of popular television shows, fan-favorite actors and more in a three-hour ceremony not to be missed. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2022 Emmys, including the date, time, what to watch and what to expect.

As always, the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards honors shows and actors in the comedy, drama and limited series categories. The full list of nominations for the 2022 Emmys was announced in July. successor received the most nominations of any show this year, with a total of 25 nominations, including Outstanding Drama. In the meantime, Teddy Lasso followed closely with 20 nominations, giving the comedy its second big year in a row. The White Lotus also had 20 nominations in the limited series category.
Another show to watch out for at the Emmys this year is Abbott Elementary Schoolwhich debuted in December and has already garnered some coveted nominations, including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series (Quinta Brunson). Chop and Only murders in the building received 17 nominations each. Other Emmy-nominated series include stunned, stranger thingsand Squid Game.
Date and time of the Emmys 2022
The 2022 Emmys will air Monday, September 12 on NBC and will be held live at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The ceremony begins at 8 p.m. ET, but fans can catch up on E! tune in to red carpet coverage.

The ceremony traditionally takes place on a Sunday, but this changes to Monday every four years. Because when it’s NBC’s turn to broadcast the event — the Emmys rotate between ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox — they’ll have to leave Sundays open for Sunday Night Football.
Who is hosting the 2022 Emmys?
This year’s Emmys ceremony will be officiated by first-time host Kenan Thompson. Here’s how to watch the 2022 Emmys via cable and streaming
Viewers with a traditional cable connection can watch the 2022 Emmys live on NBC. Additionally, Peacock, NBC’s streaming service, will stream the event. Other ways to watch the Emmys wirelessly include Hulu Live TV, YouTube TV, FuboTV, DirecTV Stream, and Sling, according to Flixed.
As the Emmys website notes, the 2022 Creative Arts Emmys, which premiered on September 3 and 4, will air on September 10 as an “edited presentation of both ceremonies.” Fans can catch this at 8pm ET on FXX. In addition, the presentation will be streamed on Hulu from September 11-27. The Creative Arts Emmys focus on the production side of television, such as makeup, lighting and casting, as well as animated and reality/competition television programs.
