Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert are married after eight years together

Derek Hough And Hayley Erbert tied the knot on Saturday, August 26th after eight years together.

Hough, 38, and Erbert, 28, confirmed the news via Instagram Hours after the knot was tied.

The Dancing with the stars judges and the So you think you can dance Alum met when Erbert came to live with Derek and his sister. Julianne Houghon their Move Live Tour in 2014. While touring with the Houghs the following year, Erbert and Derek officially began dating in July 2015.

After nearly seven years of dating, the dancers announced their engagement on social media in June 2022.

“It’s just the beginning… the beginning of eternity ♥️,” the couple wrote in a joint Instagram Post at the time along with a photo from the proposal.

Shortly after the engagement event planner Troy Williams explained Us weekly that Derek Erbert wanted to make his marriage proposal as special and intimate as possible.

“They swam with whales, they jumped off boats — that’s their life. And as we continued to talk about it, he realized, “Our home is the most special place for us,” Williams said at the time. “That’s all [Derek] wanted. He wanted it to transform into the intimacy of their home so they could embark on the next great adventure of their lives.”

Derek also shared that he loves to call DWTS The group dancer is his “fiancé” and feels like “Hayley is the one”.

“I know she’s just going to be an amazing mom and an amazing wife and she’s so considerate, so caring, so loving,” she said Hairspray Live! star told Us in June 2022 according to the proposal. “I only see how she treats our animals. I mean, if she’s a quarter the way she is with our animals and with our kids, I can’t wait to see her as a mom.”

Derek had been open about his desire to have children for several years after he began dating Erbert, saying that one day he “definitely” wanted to have children.

“You know, you kind of live in a time where you’re like, ‘Yeah, yeah, I want kids,’ but I think you just say it automatically,” the Emmy-winner said exclusively Us by the time. “I don’t really know if you know it or not — at least I didn’t — but I’m sure now that I definitely want kids, yeah.”

However, before the children, the couple focused on the wedding. In April 2023, Derek announced the couple were in the process of figuring out the details of their wedding — including their first dance.

“My first dance will be a little bit different than what people expect because it won’t be a performance,” shared the choreographer Us. “It’s going to be a moment that’s all about her and I being together, just in our own world and not about performances [or] for other people. That’s just for us, but later tonight there might be a little gig or something, who knows?”
