DeSantis files motion to remove judge in Disney’s federal lawsuit

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – Attorneys for Gov. Ron DeSantis on Friday filed a motion to remove the judge presiding over Disney’s federal lawsuit.
The governor’s attorneys allege that Chief Justice Mark Walker may not be able to be impartial.
The Movement cites two previous statements Walker made in other cases in which he referred to the state’s retaliation against Disney.
The filing includes testimonies from the Link v. Corcoran and Falls v. DeSantis cases, which were made “on file” and “in open court.”
In the Falls v. DeSantis case, Walker said, “Disney will lose its status because — arguably because they made a statement that conflicts with state policy of the controlling party.”

The motion calls for Walker’s removal and the appointment of another judge in his place.
