DeSantis spokesman points out discrimination against the NHL

UPDATE posted at 2:22 p.m. EST:
The NHL’s LinkedIn post appears to have been deleted.
Fox News Digital reported that the NHL noted in a statement that the “original wording of the LinkedIn post associated with the event was incorrect.”
“The Pathway to Hockey Summit is an informational and networking event designed to encourage all individuals to consider a career in our game — and especially to make those who may not be familiar with hockey aware of the opportunities that it offers,” the NHL spokesperson said, according to the outlet, which also reported that the spokesperson indicated the event was open to those ages 18 and older.
Original story below:
The National Hockey League has released an event advertisement indicating an event is open only to certain categories of people, but the administration of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is asking the NHL to drop and condemn the discriminatory eligibility requirements.
The NHL sent through its “Pathway to Hockey Summit,” describes it as a “career event for diverse job seekers,” stating, “Participants must be at least 18 years of age, reside in the United States, and identify as Female, Black, Asian/Pacific Islander , Hispanic/Latin, Indigenous, LGBTQIA+ and/or a person with a disability. Veterans are also welcome and encouraged to participate.”
The event is scheduled to take place on February 2nd in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
DeSantis press secretary Bryan Griffin gave a expression Calls on the NHL to erase and condemn the discriminatory eligibility requirements.
“Discrimination of any kind is not welcome in the state of Florida, and we do not subscribe to the buoyant notion that discrimination should be overlooked when used in a politically popular manner or against a politically unpopular demographic. We fight all discrimination in our schools and in our workplaces, and we will fight it in public places of gathering or activity. We call on the National Hockey League to immediately lift and denounce the discriminatory bans it has placed on attending the 2023 Pathway to Hockey Summit,” Griffin said in the statement.
The NHL showed its ultra-awakeness last year when it made the absurd claims that “trans women are women. Trans men are men. Non-binary identity is real.” In fact, transgender women are biological men masquerading as women, while transgender men are biological women masquerading as men.
The NHL made the biologically denial comments in response to someone who commented on a post about the NHL’s support for a tournament of transgender and non-binary players.
“The NHL is proud to support Team Trans Draft Tournament last weekend in Middleton, Wisconsin. This was the first tournament made up entirely of transgender and non-binary players, with around 80 entries! #HockeyIsForEveryone #NHLPride,” the NHL announced tweeted .
