Diablo 4 Season 2 is off to a rocky start

Update: The issues appear to be resolved. Season Journey objectives will now update as they are completed, and items can be claimed from the Battle Pass once that tier is reached. Seasonal travel goals do not appear to be tracked retroactively, so any progress made prior to the correction will not count. Diablo 4 may need to be restarted to resolve the issue for all players.

Original: Diablo 4 Season 2 is now live, but the Season Journey Destinations and Battle Pass are currently unavailable. Season 2 launched alongside Diablo 4’s Steam release, but the new update has caused some issues, including disabling crossplay between PC and consoles and incorrect season objectives.

Season Objectives in Diablo 4 are a set of objectives that can be achieved while playing the new season content. Players who complete these objectives will be rewarded with Battle Pass XP, Legendary Aspects, and other rewards. However, these goals are not currently met and none of the goals are properly tracking your progress. Despite completing some tasks, such as collecting Reddamine and completing a basement, all objectives remain at zero.

Blizzard has not acknowledged the issue on social media at the time of writing, and it is unclear whether progress toward season objectives will be retroactively rewarded once the issue is resolved. Luckily, the only goal you could theoretically exclude yourself from is “completing three priority or side quests,” although completing all side quests before a fix is released seems unlikely.

The Battle Pass itself is also broken, with players unable to claim rewards, including the free and premium tiers. Icy Veins has reported that some players were able to use their free Premium Battle Pass from the Deluxe version of the game for the Season 2 Battle Pass, even though they had used it for the Season 1 Battle Pass, despite not receiving any rewards could claim the moment anyway.

Diablo 4 Season 2 also included a major balance update to the game, with patch notes spanning over 14,000 words.
