Powerball players eagerly awaited the numbers for Saturday night’s $580 million draw.
The Powerball numbers in the October 22nd draw were 19, 25, 48, 55, 60 and the Powerball was 18. The Power Play was 2X.
However, according to the Powerball website, there were no jackpot winners because no ticket matched all six numbers drawn on Saturday night.
But although the jackpot was not won on Saturday, there were some players who will be celebrating big cash prizes.
Three players from New York, South Carolina and Texas matched all five white balls to win $1 million each.
Thirty-six players matched four white balls and the Powerball to win $50,000 each. Six other players who matched four cue balls and the Powerball doubled their winnings to $100,000 each thanks to a Power Play purchase.
Meanwhile, 733 players matched four white balls to win $100 prizes, and 162 others won $200 due to power play.
Without a grand prize winner on Saturday, the jackpot will continue to increase for the next draw on Monday. Monday’s jackpot currently stands at $610 million, making it the eighth largest jackpot in Powerball history. It has a present value of $292.6 million.
The Powerball jackpot was last hit on August 3 when a Pennsylvania player matched all six numbers to win $206.9 million.
To start the year, winners in California and Wisconsin shared a $630 million prize in early January, the seventh largest jackpot in Powerball history.
A Connecticut player won the grand prize worth approximately $183 million in the Feb. 14 drawing.
Then, on April 27th, a $473.1 million jackpot was won in Arizona, followed by a $366.7 million jackpot won on June 29th in Vermont.
How to play Powerball
Powerball tickets cost $2 per game, with players selecting five numbers from 1 to 69, in addition to a red Powerball number from 1 to 26. In certain circumstances, players can also multiply non-jackpot prizes by using the Power Play – Option to use for an additional $1.
Tickets are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.
Powerball drawings are streamed live from the lottery studio in Tallahassee, Fla. every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET.
Jackpot winners can choose to receive their prize as an annuity, paid in 30 tiered payments over 29 years, or as a lump sum. Both advertised pricing options are before federal and local taxes.
The overall odds of winning are 1 in 24.9, according to the Powerball website. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. “Even if more tickets are sold in a given draw, your chances of winning are the same,” the site states.
