Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix documentaries could touch on their sister Samantha Markle’s Twitter activities afterwards news week was said that it was referenced in an interview.
Harry & Megan will debut on December 8th with a first series of three episodes, followed by three more on December 15th.
Christopher Bouzy, the founder of data analytics firm Bot Sentinel, told the show’s producers during an interview that Samantha Markle had been suspended from Twitter.
Bouzy investigated anti-Meghan Twitter accounts in 2021 and identified a network of 83 accounts responsible for 70 percent of the hostile messages about her.
Aside from his comments about Samantha Markle, Bouzy also told the show’s producers how some anonymous Twitter accounts compared Meghan and her children – Archie and Lilibet Mountbatten-Windsor – to monkeys during the two-hour interview.
Bouzy tells news week He anticipated a “significant segment,” but didn’t know which of his comments would be included in the finished product and which would be left out.
The businessman, seen in the teaser trailer, said: “We’ve talked about Meghan’s sister, we’ve talked about everything.
The discussion about Samantha Markle was about “her having these accounts that she was banned from and also some of these negative things that she said about her sister,” he said.
In March 2022, Samantha Markle’s attorney at the time announced news week: “Regarding 2019, Samantha was never ‘banned’ or ‘banned’ from Twitter. In 2019, her account was ‘restricted’ for three days because of a political tweet unrelated to Meghan.
“There have been many fraudulent accounts on Twitter and other social media with individuals pretending to be Samantha.”
Samantha Markle is currently suing Meghan in federal court in Florida for defamation over the Duchess’ interview with Oprah Winfrey and parts of her biography Finding Freedom by Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand.
Twitter trolls likened Meghan, Archie and Lilibet to monkeys
Elsewhere in the interview, Bouzy said he narrated the documentary about the racist abuse of Meghan and her children on social media and also spoke about the mainstream media coverage.
Bouzy tells news week: “Many of the accounts that have, and still have, targeted Meghan use racial slurs, use imagery that would be considered racist, including depicting her face on a monkey or comparing it to a monkey and her children.”
“A lot of vitriol is surrounded by race because they include these racial slurs when they comment. Hopefully it will illustrate what the couple has been through, particularly with the online vitriole, hate and targeted harassment,” he said. “Hopefully it sheds some light so people who don’t understand and don’t know what’s going on can finally see what happened to this couple.”
Harry & Megan Sparks backlash from UK media
Harry & Megan has already sparked a backlash in the UK media with biographer Tom Bower, author of Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the War Between the Windsorsamong those targeting the Sussexes not only for the teaser but also for Harry’s memoir.
He told GB News: “I’m afraid that the Netflix documentary and then of course the book will do even more damage and it needs leadership – it needs leadership from King Charles because at some point they have to draw a line and say the Sussexes have really gone too far in their quest for fame and fortune at the expense of the royal family.
“I have warned about this repeatedly for months. It’s pretty clear what they’re doing is very skillful and harmful – colossally harmful. That trailer – what an amazing display. It’s just full of threats and venom and innuendos and direct attacks on the royal family.”
Bower added: “I think the first step, which I think would be very popular, is going to be to take the titles away from the Sussexes. Of course, Harry is born of Prince and will remain a Prince.
“I think next thing King Charles has to do is announce that the Royal Family has no connection whatsoever with the Sussexes and they are no longer members of the Royal Family to him.”
Referring to the backlash, Bouzy said: “I think it’s reactive, no one’s really seen it yet. They are already negative towards the couple and this is yet another indication of what they have been through. We’ve only seen trailers that are less than two minutes long, if at all. I think people should withhold their opinions and comments until they actually see them.
