Dog hilariously dressed as a sheep to help mom and baby sleep: ‘Recommend’

The internet went viral over a new dad’s hilarious method of helping his newborn baby and wife fall asleep.

In a video on TikTok with over 4.5 million views, Ora, the three-year-old borzoi dog, plays the role of “Sneep Sheep,” a cosplay that owner Jacob Chattman “would recommend to anyone.”

The camera pans from the crib, which is cradling his 13-day-old son, Locke, and with his wife asleep, to the “Snuff Sheep.”

Chattman is an Arizona screenwriter and actor who has been wowing the internet with videos of his beloved dogs since he rose to fame with video-sharing app Vine nearly eight years ago.

Esper Borzoi/TikTok & Instagram

“I created my Vine account to document Esper’s life when we first adopted her. I wanted something to go back to and see our early days, sort of an anthology,” Chattman said news week.

Esper the Borzoi quickly became an internet star, often referred to as “My Little Russian Lady,” referring to the video that started it all – a shot of Esper wrapped in a blanket while Chattman shouted “It’s.” my little Russian lady” jokes Accent.

A screenplay based on Chattman’s top-grossing series on TikTok, The Bad Dog Announcer, has just been placed in the semifinals of the 2023 Emerging Screenwriters Genre Screenplay Competition.

In acting, he has played minor roles in shows including urban fantasy series Lucifer and Dahmer – Monsters: The Story of Jeffrey Dahmer on Netflix.

“In waking life I’m a screenwriter and actor, and I believe with all my heart that creativity is a muscle that you have to exercise every day to get stronger,” Chattman said. “So I make my online posts my routine. Stream Consciousness Instagram posts, test scripted jokes on TikToks. I really love to create and I love my dogs.”

Chattman’s videos, dubbed Esperbarzoi, continue to garner viral attention as her 1.8 million TikTok followers wait to see what’s next.

“I have no idea what inspired the video,” he said of the latest Sneep Sheep creation.

“[It was] one of those random sparks of inspiration that I’m suffering through my wife and now my newborn child,” he joked cellophane by FKA twigs to highlight a borzoi ‘I’ll do that for you’ and in this case the Sneep Sheep helps everyone sleep.”

To help others who might want to create their own Sneep Sheep, Chattman even shared the “recipe”:

SNEEP SHEEP – inexpensive cosplay recipe
by Jacob Chattman from esperborzoi on TikTok.

TIME: 7.6 minutes

COST: $5.63 (price does not include dog)

INGREDIENTS:

1 dog — preferably sniffed

1 sheet of felt

1 pack of velcro dots

1 Dog bed – the old one which used to be whitish but is now matted and the color of a sheep shorn

DIRECTIONS:

Cut felt into 4 rectangles and 2 ovals with stick figure feet. Place velcro dots on rectangles in non-stupid spots and attach to legs as tolerated (probably best if you do all attachments almost at once). Place a Velcro point in each oval foot and gently attach to each ear. Throw bed over dog. Have cheese ready for treats.

The original star of Chattman’s videos, Esper sadly passed away in March 2022. The family currently has four borzoi dogs: Vladimir Poopin, Joy, Ora and Celes. Once known as the Russian Wolfhound, these large and elegant dogs were bred to be fast and resilient.

Once a breed loved by the Russian aristocracy, who held extravagant hunting festivals on their estates, the Romanov family’s borzoi dogs were slaughtered in large numbers following the Russian Revolution and murder.

Luckily, lovers of the breed kept the borzoi alive, and it was recognized as a breed by the American Kennel Club (AKC) in 1891.

When it comes to creating his beloved borzoi content, Chattman doesn’t think he’ll be stopping anytime soon: “Contributing has benefited my writing and acting in ways I never could have imagined,” said he. “My favorite thing is still being able to look back and see what our lives were like almost 8 years ago. I try to post daily so it’s a great way to flip through memories and rays of sunshine from the past.”
