A service dog named Bailey has left the internet sobbing after his owner shared a video of him alerting her to upcoming health complications, grabbing her medication and making sure she was okay.
The viral clip, shared on TikTok by Bailey’s owner on Tuesday under the username Serviceaussiebailey, shows the pup gently catching her attention with his paws, prompting her to sit down before bringing her water and medication.
Bailey’s owner suffers from postural tachycardia syndrome (POTS), a condition that causes a range of symptoms when you transition from lying down to standing up, including a rapid heart rate, dizziness and fatigue, according to the Cleveland Clinic.
POTS is a common condition affecting approximately 1 million to 3 million people in the United States, mostly women ages 15 to 50, although it does not exclude men.
Researchers still haven’t figured out what caused this condition, nor have they developed a cure for it. However, have some individual strategies to manage the symptoms which mainly include exercise and physical activity, diet and nutrition. Medical compression stockings can also help push blood up from your legs to reduce POTS symptoms.
The viral video, which has been viewed over 5 million times and liked 781,000 times, includes a caption that reads: “Something as simple as washing the dishes can be dangerous for my heart. Bailey can tell me before it gets bad. “
Most of the users who watched the video loved the dog and the special bond he has with his owner, and others thought this dog was much more useful than their adult children!
One user, Heybabe33, commented, “Not me who GUDDLES when he gets the medicine and rips open the fridge door like a champ. [He’s] the best good boy.” And Needed._.Inspiration said, “He’s a 100% good dog. So amazing.”
Another user, Jeanette Barratt, wrote: “Wow that made me cry! How beautiful the bond you have and the unconditional love.” And Mama Bear added: “Beautiful. He does good service. It really is a miracle. We had a companion dog for my son for many years. There is nothing like it.”
Charlesandthefartmaster said: “WOW!!! Inexpressibly impressed! What a smart dog. And Kylie Johnston added: “He’s more useful than my 2 teenage sons!”
Another user, Kingkailey, wrote, “I’m literally sobbing, that’s so cute what a good boy is.” And Melynda Raymond said, “What an amazing dog.”
