Don St. Claire dead: “Amazing Race” contestant was 87 years old

Don St. Claire, a former participant in The amazing racedied. He was 87.

St. Claire collapsed and died at his home in Angels Camp, Calif. after suffering a heart condition, his family believes, his son Greg told TMZ.

the previous Amazing race The player appeared in Season 6 in 2004, where he drove alongside his wife, Mary Jean. Known as “the grandparents,” they retired fourth in Berlin, Germany, and finished eighth overall. At 69, Don was one of the oldest contestants to ever appear on the show.

Outside of reality TV, St. Claire was a renowned physician in Northern California, where he practiced medicine for 40 years in Palo Alto, California. He also served on the clinical faculty at Stanford University.

During casting for the series, the couple spoke about their love of adventure and travel, being across six continents at the time of its season. During one of their voyages in the South Pacific, the couple survived a near-death experience when a boat capsized, throwing Don onto a coral reef and throwing Mary Jean into the water. Locals believed the couple didn’t make it and held an early memorial service for them.
