The real winner of Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards? culture of anti-abandonment culture. Diddy hosted the event and used it as an opportunity to make “uncancelled” Travis Scott and Morgan Wallen, whose performances were literally canceled following controversy. Scott still faces multiple lawsuits over his involvement in the deaths of 10 concert-goers at his Astroworld festival. And Wallen has been canceled and not canceled and canceled again multiple times. First he was rejected Saturday night live for ignoring COVID protocols, then he got a “Me Sowwy” sketch later in the season. then He was caught on tape saying the n-word and went on an apology press tour for that. But alongside the praise Diddy gave himself for healing America, there were real accolades as well. Drake had won several awards including Top Male Artist and Top Rap Artist. Taylor Swift won for Red (Taylor’s version), and Olivia Rodrigo was named Top Radio Song Artist and Top Billboard Global 200 Artist. A full list of winners is below.
