Driver OK after car crashes into Davie Lake – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

DAVIE, FL. (WSVN) – A South Florida driver has fled to safety after his car crashed into a lake.

The accident happened Tuesday afternoon just off Interstate 75 near Griffin Road in Davie.

Divers from Davie Fire Rescue responded after receiving a call around 4:45 p.m

However, officials said the driver managed to escape and reached shore safely when first responders arrived.

Rescue divers entered the water to make sure there were no other people in the craft.
