Dwayne Johnson breaks DC silence to address ‘Black Adam’ rumors

Ever since James Gunn and Peter Safran became co-CEOs of DC Studios and began tearing the franchise apart, fans have been waiting patiently Dwayne Johnson to talk about the situation in the country from his perspective.

After all, the actor and producer has been trying to pull this off for 15 years Black Adam to the big screen, only for the long-running passion project not to be taxed at the box office by failing to crack $400 million worldwide, prompting widespread debate over whether or not the film was a flop.

To add fuel to the fire, reports surfaced that the Man in Black’s debut would lose as much as $100 million before Johnson’s own debunking of those claims led to allegations that he had leaked misleading financial numbers to the trades. As if things couldn’t get any more controversial, his years-long struggle to get Henry Cavill’s Superman back was all for nothing after Gunn pushed the DCU’s canon Man of Steel to the exit as one of his first assignments.

Just when you thought things couldn’t get any more heated, rumors began sweeping the internet that Johnson had unfollowed the officer Black Adam and Warner Bros. Discovery accounts on Instagram, which would mark his first major DC-related activity of the Gunn/Safran era. But the 50-year-old has finally broken his silence, if only to debunk the speculation.

He also reportedly turned down a chance for a cameo as Black Adam Shazam! wrath of the godsnone of the burning questions about Johnson’s DC future (or lack thereof) have been answered, so it’s worth watching this room to see what happens when he finally faces the new bosses.
