The consequences of Shazam! wrath of the gods didn’t think very kindly about it Dwayne Johnsonwith the actor and producer identified as detaining Black Adam so tight that it ended up having a negative impact on the DCU as a whole.
Though he produced Zachary Levi’s first appearance as a costumed crimefighter through his company Seven Bucks, it felt more like a means to an end to pit the Man in Black in a showdown against Henry Cavill’s Man of Steel, especially when it was claimed that he turned down cameo and crossover opportunities left and right.
If we take Levi’s comments at face value, then The Rock didn’t just repel a guest spot wrath of the godsbut he also prevented Shazam from retaliating Black Adambefore vetoing the Justice Society, which appeared in the credits of the recent box-office disaster, leaving it to James Gunn regulars Steve Agee and Jennifer Holland to fill the void.
With that in mind — it should be 100 percent factual, of course — then one has a feeling Levi will be reluctant to agree that Johnson is indeed “the nicest man in Hollywood,” a title he humbly accepted.
Off-camera, Johnson’s good deeds are a regular and heartwarming occurrence, but they don’t make it to the top of the industry ladder without causing collateral damage. Ironic, Black Adam turned out to be one of the most high-profile victims, but that doesn’t mean the 50-year-old can’t be seen as a kind-hearted soul if he’s not obsessed with his own intellectual property.
