Elon Musk links sexual harassment allegations to his fight for ‘freedom of speech’

Tech mogul Elon Musk brushes aside a bombshell report accusing him of sexual misconduct, calling the allegations politically motivated and saying he will keep fighting for freedom of expression.

Musk posted a defiant tweet Thursday, hours after Insider published a report that he allegedly offered a flight attendant a horse for an erotic massage, resulting in a $250,000 settlement. The tweet is the latest from Musk, criticizing progressives and Democrats for positioning himself as a free speech advocate.

“The attacks on me should be viewed through a political lens – that’s your standard (despicable) playbook – but nothing will stop me from fighting for a bright future and your right to free speech,” Musk wrote in the tweet.

Insider’s report, based on interviews and documents, revolves around an incident in 2016 in which Musk allegedly exposed himself to a flight attendant and offered to buy her a horse if she would “do more.” The flight attendant was an employee of SpaceX and miscalculated with the Musk-led aerospace company for a quarter of a million dollars, the report said.

Musk has denied the allegations and called the report a “politically motivated hit”.

Ahead of the report’s release, Musk cryptically tweeted that he would no longer vote for the Democrats, alluding to a “dirty tricks campaign” against him. In his attempt to take over Twitter, Musk presented himself as a champion of free speech, criticizing the platform’s uneven enforcement of community standards and praising conservatives who complained about censorship.

“Where were these wild accusations against @elonmusk before he went against the establishment?” Tara Bull, CEO of Cucumber Capital, replied to Musk Thursday night.

“Exactly,” Musk replied.
