Euphoria makeup artist offering free makeovers at ACL

AUSTIN, Texas — HBO’s Emmy-winning makeup artist Donnie Davidwho is credited with sparking a Gen Z beauty movement with her work on Euphoria, set up her Euphoria makeup trailer at thrift store Pavement on Guadalupe Street.

In the light of At the Austin City Limits (ACL) Music Festival, fans of Davy and the show had the opportunity to meet the makeup artist, see the trailer and get free makeup.

Davy is the co-founder and creative director of the makeup brand half magic. The brand launched an online shop in May where customers can shop.

“I think festivals are such a fun time to dress up, to adopt a fantasy version of yourself, like an alter ego. It’s a time to just discover another part of yourself, to have fun. It’s all about feeling good, right? Like dopamine makeup, it lifts your spirits,” Davy said.

Davy said music festivals like ACL are a great time to experiment with makeup. For those who may be afraid to stand out from their normal looks, Davy suggests starting small with a little color, maybe a little eyeliner and a little rhinestone at the inner corner of the eye.

“There are countless ways to elevate your everyday, more neutral look and add a little magic and sparkle to it,” explains Davy. “We love being super subtle and then of course explosive with Half Magic, and I love that.”

Half Magic Beauty recently released its first pressed eyeshadows in three different textures, including glossy, metallic crystal shimmer and matte. New items are expected to appear on the brand’s website every few months.

The free mini makeovers featured in the Half Magic Beauty trailer will also take place on the festival grounds from 10am to 4pm.
