Fans are debating who they want Batman and Damian to face in the new film

James Gunn has just started working on his Superman: Legacy Script, so it’s safe to assume The brave and the bold Movie starring Bruce Wayne and his estranged son Damian is a little far off. That’s hardly going to stop DC fandom, however, who are now getting into a debate about who the story’s villain is.
These days, genre projects are left to the whim of their fanbases. If you can set high enough expectations, everyone will turn on you if you deviate from them a bit. This is probably what happened to Gunn, who has had to deal with a flood of criticism since the handover to the DCU.
The community will not learn from its mistakes, and even if Warner Bros. is content to announce these projects and leave it at that, fans will continue to speculate and come up with perfect ways to carry out each project. The latest instance of this affects The brave and the boldwhich is set to introduce the DCU’s new Batman alongside his canonical son, Damian Wayne.
If the film follows the comic’s plot, the two will get off on the wrong foot and then work hard to improve that relationship. That’ll make up most of the story, but what about his villain?
A lot of people think the first movie shouldn’t start with a League of Assassins antagonist and save that for a sequel.
What about poison ivy? It’s been a minute since we last saw her.
A monster would fit nicely into the Gods and Monsters arc.
Here’s an idea: The brave and the bold should avoid doing what literally every movie before it has done and actually center the plot around Bruce and Wayne without a secondary villain to team up against at the last minute. I mean to say this is a tired trope would be a gross understatement.
