‘Pachinko’ creator Soo Hugh and ‘Emergency’ filmmakers Carey Williams and John Fischer are among the other guest speakers at the conference, taking place October 24-27.

This year’s fall festival circuit seemed to be everything, everywhere, all at once.

The Film Independent Forum 2022 announced that Everything Everywhere All at Once writers/directors Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, aka Daniels, will open the conference with a keynote address.

Opening night on October 24 will also feature A24’s The Inspection, followed by a Q&A with director Elegance Bratton, Effie T. Brown, CEO/Producer of Gamechanger, and producer Chester Algernal Gordon.

The Film Independent Forum event begins October 24 at the Directors Guild of America Theater in Los Angeles. The conference will continue October 25-27 with virtual sessions and panels open to a global audience. The full program will take place over four days, from October 24th to 27th.

Additional speakers for the virtual sessions include “Pachinko” creator Soo Hugh, Shari Page (Half Initiative), Sarah Calderón (The Film Agency), Diego Najera (participant), Paula Manzanedo (Film Finances) and filmmaker Miranda Bailey ( “God’s Country”), Elizabeth Lo and Shane Boris (“Stray”), KD Davila, Carey Williams and John Fischer (“Emergency”), Linda Yvette Chavez (“Gentefied”), Billy Luther (“Frybread Face and Me”) , Angel Kristi Williams (“Really Love”), Aitch Alberto and Valerie Stadler (“Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe”)—many of whom have participated in Film Independent Artist Development programs. Additional panelists will be announced in the coming weeks.

The virtual sessions available through the Forum’s platform include feature films, documentaries and episodic case studies, a funding and pitching clinic, a producers’ roundtable, sessions exploring the global independent film market, social impact, inclusion and Sustainability issues as well as Building a career path in the current landscape with a panel of Film Independent Fellows as Film Independent prepares to celebrate the 30th anniversary of artist development programs next year.
