Fire in Fontana caused by wind damages houses and cars

FONTANA, Calif. (KABC)– At least one home and commercial building were damaged after a wind-driven fire broke out in Fontana overnight.
According to the San Bernardino County Fire Department, crews responded to the area near Boyle and Catawba Avenues near the 10 freeway just before midnight Wednesday.
Officials at the scene said the fire may have started in some sort of pallet or truck yard before spreading to the adjacent property of homes. Several cars were also on fire.
At one point, the incident escalated into a third alert as crews grappled with lashing winds of up to 50 mph (80 km/h) blasting through the area. The fire was eventually extinguished and no injuries were reported.
