Florida couple charged with vandalizing pro-life centers with anti-abortion messages and threats

A Florida couple have been charged with vandalizing pro-life centers with abortion messages after the Supreme Court dropped its charges Dobbs Decision to end federal abortion rights.

Pro-life centers across the country have been the target of vandalism and other political threats from those angry that abortion rights were subsequently curtailed Deer vs Wade was overturned.

A expression of the US Attorney’s Office said that 27-year-old Caleb Freestone and 23-year-old Amber Smith-Stewart were indicted by a federal grand jury on conspiracy with others to destroy the Life Choice Pregnancy Center in Winter Haven in June.

They are accused of spray-painting threats at the center, including the message: “If abortions aren’t safe, then nothing is [sic] are you”, “YOUR TIME IS UP!!”, “WE COME for you” and “We are everywhere.”

The indictment says they also targeted other centers in Hollywood and Hialeah.

Booking photos of the couple were posted to social media by Washington Free Beacon’s Chuck Ross.

Republicans wrote in June in a letter to the Justice Department asking it to respond to threats and vandalism against pro-life centers. Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) said in the letter that US Attorney General Merrick Garland should resign over the Justice Department’s inaction on terrorist threats from abortion groups.

Staff and religious volunteers for Winter Haven Center quickly answered to counteract the vandalism of the time by painting over the vandalism in about three hours.

“Our pastor actually said, ‘You know what, we’re going to go there and minister, we’re going to share the love of God, and for some reason, if it happens again, we’re going to go back and paint it again,'” Jason Hughes said from Winter Haven Worship Center.

Freestone and Smith-Stewart face 12 years in prison and fines of up to $350,000 each if found guilty of the crimes.
