Having a close, personal relationship with someone can change your life for the better at any stage of your life. Just ask celebrity chef and Food Network star Anne Burrell.
She was so focused on her career that getting married wasn’t the tiniest thought on her mind. Then she met Stuart Claxton and fell in love with him.
Anne Burrell loves writing, teaching and cooking
The star of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, Cook wantedand Worst cooks in America puts their expertise to good use. Not only can she create amazing Italian cuisine (her speciality), she can also teach.
She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in 1996 after earning a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York.
Her passion for food was evident at the CIA, where later in her career she became an instructor herself. “I enjoyed every minute as a student at the CIA. I couldn’t learn fast enough, couldn’t do enough, couldn’t work hard enough.”
After graduating from the CIA, the chef spent years learning her craft in New York City after a year of culinary immersion in Italy at a Michelin-starred restaurant. During her time in New York, the spiky-haired chef developed her keen sense for delicious, rustic food made from pure and simple ingredients with intense flavors.

Until recently, Burrell was very focused on her career and her personal life was not a priority.
When Anne met Stuart
Chef Burrell met Stuart Claxton, an advertising and sales guru at Univision, in 2018. Two years later, the couple got engaged when the couple burst into tears while discussing how nice it was to spend time with the, according to People to spend with family.
Claxton popped the question in 2020 when he and his love spent time isolating in upstate New York during the pandemic. Marriage wasn’t even on Cook’s radar in her life until she fell in love with Claxton. She has never been married and is fully focused on her career.
“Once you’re a woman of 50, you don’t really think marriage is for you. I’ve always been very focused on my career and marriage has never been a big thing in my life that I’ve been looking for. Then, when I met Stuart, my mind on all of that changed,” Burrell said at the time.

The happy couple married a year later in the chef’s hometown of Cazenovia, New York. Her bridesmaids included Burrell’s sister Jane and fellow celebrity chef and good friend Rachel Ray. The groom’s best man was his teenage son Javier from a previous marriage, People notes.
For domestic bliss, the couple currently resides in Brooklyn. Suffice it to say that the former Iron Chef America contestant is taking on the cooking. Burrell said Closer,
“Stuart is English, so on the weekends I usually make a full English breakfast of eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, sautéed mushrooms, roasted tomatoes and potatoes fried in bacon fat.”
Her stepson Javier has bonded beautifully with his new stepmom. During the coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown, he helped Burrell record cooking videos in her mother’s kitchen as the three moved to Cazenovia to wait out the pandemic. Burrell’s love life was a little bumpy in public before she met her Prince Charming.
Kiss frogs before they find their prince
In 2012, HuffPost noted that Burrell was subsequently outed as a lesbian Queer Eye for the Straight Guy Star Ted Allen said she is in a relationship with a woman. A rep for the Food Network chef said Allen has not come out and that Burrell’s long-term relationship with another woman is no secret to her close friends and family.
Burrel was previously engaged to the former Iron Cook With the candidate Koren Grieveson, however, the two finally called off the wedding, reports Mashed.
Though their previous relationships didn’t work out, Burrell and her husband are busy creating domestic bliss at home now that they both have successful careers, a son to help him grow into his young adult years, and many happy years ahead lie to them while they enjoy the fruits of their labor and love.
