Fortnite Railgun stats and where to find them in Chapter 3 Season 2

As part of a brand new hotfix update for Fourteen daysboth the railgun and the recon scanner have returned from the vault and are once again available on the island.

Unfortunately, if two weapons return from the vault, two must enter it. The Sideways Rifle and Minigun were the two unfortunate weapons that made their return to the Vault, meaning players will no longer find them scattered across the island.

With Chapter 3 Season 3 just weeks away, you can bet Railgun and Recon Scanner won’t be around for long Epic Games are once again expected to shake things up with the start of a brand new season. So make the most of the railgun while you can! Here you can find the recently unearthed weapon and the stats for each available rarity.

Where to find the Railgun in Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2?

Similar to many other weapons in Fourteen days, the railgun spawn rate is completely random. Which unfortunately means there’s no set place to drop by and pick up the gun. However, they shouldn’t be too difficult to get your hands on, as they drop from opened chests and supply crates, and can also be found as floor loot throughout the island.

Fortnite Railgun stats explained

The Railgun comes in three different rarities, these are:

  • Rare (Blue)
  • Epic (Purple)
  • Legendary (Gold)

With each increase in rarity comes increased weapon stats, all of which can be found below:

  • Rare (Blue)
    • Damage per second = 85
    • damage = 85
    • rate of fire = 1
    • Magazine size = 1
    • Reload time = 3s
    • Structural damage = 500
  • Epic (Purple)
    • Damage per second = 89
    • Damage = 89
    • rate of fire = 1
    • Magazine size = 1
    • Reload time = 2.85s
    • Structural Damage = 525
  • Legendary (Gold)
    • Damage per second = 94
    • Damage = 94
    • rate of fire = 1
    • Magazine size = 1
    • Reload time = 2.7s
    • Structural damage = 550

All versions of the railgun use heavy bullets and have a 2x headshot multiplier. It’s also a hitscan weapon, meaning the bullet fired will always fire from the center of the reticle, while also not dealing damage falloff.
