Frasier reboot casts Niles and Daphne’s son David – David Hyde Pierce, Jane Leeves

Another member of the Crane family will join Frasier for the Paramount+ revival.

Newcomer Anders Keith has been cast as Niles and Daphne’s son David, reports our sister site Deadline. He joins franchise newcomer Jack Cutmore-Scott (illusion), who was previously cast as Frasier’s son, Freddy.

Additionally, the revival has Jess Salgueiro (Y: The last man) as Freddy’s roommate, Eve.

The character of David was born in the series finale of the 2004 original series. TV parents David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves are not currently attached to the revival. In the sequel series, according to the character breakdown, David is “a bumbling college freshman with a penchant for unconventional observation.” “He has the intelligence of Niles, the smile of Daphne and none of her polish. David’s undeserved confidence may confuse some, but Frasier has a fondness for his nephew’s earnest enthusiasm.”

Eve, on the other hand, is described as “spontaneous, outgoing and full of creative energy”. With her innate ability to connect with both Frasier and Freddy, Eve is an important bridge between father and son as they try to reconcile.”

Kelsey Grammer will star in the streaming follow-up, reprising his role as the snooty psychiatrist he came from applause and then moved on to his own NBC spin-off, which ran for 11 seasons and won five straight Emmys for Best Comedy Series. In the new show, “Frasier travels to another city with new challenges to overcome, new relationships to forge and an old dream or two to finally fulfill.” British actor Nicholas Lyndhurst will star as college professor Alan Cornwall, Frasier’s old college friend.

A premiere date for the revival has not yet been announced.
