Genshin Impact Developer HoYoverse revealed a new roadmap for version 2.7 and 2.8 updates, notifying fans of when to expect new content after an unprecedented delay.
Those of you who follow international news may have seen the situation in Shanghai improving, meaning game developers based there are locked in Genshin Impact‘s HoYoverse, will soon be out of their lockdown ordeal. And today, May 19th, HoYoverse released a new roadmap detailing when 2.7 and 2.8 will be released.
Genshin Impact 2.7 is getting a new release date
HoYoverse announced that version 2.7 maintenance will take place on May 31, confirming the latest data mining leaks that cited May 31 as the release date for Yelan. The Infinite Banner for Ayaka also ends on May 31, just before maintenance. There are no changes to the dates and schedules of any other ongoing events. We’ll get all the official details on 2.7 with the upcoming live stream on May 20th.
The Serenitea Pot Maintenance is also ending
HoYoverse also confirmed that the release of version 2.7 on May 31st will mark the end of Serenitea Pot maintenance after almost two months. Players can re-use the editing feature and place characters and furnishings just like in any other game’s housing mode.
Don’t worry, 2.8 gets the updates back on track
Meanwhile, the release of version 2.8 has been officially confirmed on July 13, 2022. This will be on a Wednesday and six weeks after the 2.7 release, which is the usual amount of time between the two Genshin Impact To update. The game won’t lose the weeks following its unprecedented delay, but at least the delay won’t have any further impact on the schedule.
In any case, it’s great to get HoYoverse rolling again as hopefully the Covid lockdown in Shanghai will be lifted soon.
Are you happy that Yelan is finally coming home, or would you have preferred the delay to be a few weeks longer to get more apologies? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
