Genshin Impact Web Event to ensnare a loot leader

Genshin Impact just got a new web event on May 26th ahead of the 2.7 launch, this time focused on Yelan – Here’s our guide to help you clear things up Ensnare a prey.

Ensnare a prey is a fairly simple mix of the usual clicker games Web event and a thriller. After talking to several characters, Yelan asks us to review the information she has gathered and choose the right culprit for the case she is investigating.

You can access the web event on this page here. As usual, make sure you’re logged into the correct server: double-check that your character’s name is displayed in the top-left corner of the screen. Click the Start button to begin.

This event features Yelan being hired to investigate an information leak case at the Liyue Ministry of Civil Affairs. After a brief introduction, you will be presented with a summary of the case and its clues so far. Click the “Share for more information” button and the yellow button to copy the event link to your clipboard. As usual with genshin web events, You don’t actually have to share the link. Close the window and the event will continue, with Yelan meeting several clients and informants.

Then you will be presented with all submenus of the event. You must first click on “Case Files” and then “Conversation Records” to review the information Yelan has gathered and find the culprit among the characters she has encountered. The web event will help you with this by putting important words in bold and you need to click on each one of them.

Once you click on the bold words, they will turn red and the number of suspect points will increase. When you’re done with a character, click the arrow on the right side of the window to move on to the next character.

Once you’ve gone through all the information, it’s time to find a culprit. Go back to the profile of the character you think is guilty and click the Identify Suspect button.

Who is the real culprit?

Greedy treasure hoarder turns out to be the culprit as he is notably the only character Yelan has met who is trying to hide something. He is the only person to say that nothing has happened in the Abyss Mines lately and is clearly lying:

Prime Gems and Rewards

Once you complete the event, you will receive 40 in-game Primogems, along with some materials that will help mount Yelan if you plan on pulling them. As usual, 40 Primos is a really small amount – that’s less than what you’ll earn after a full day of daily quests – but it’s better than nothing, especially if you’re a pure F2P player.

Ensnare a prey lasts until May 31st. This is not a time sensitive event. Even if you play it on the 31st, you can delete it.
