Ghosts of Beirut Season 1 Release Date on Showtime

A new limited series based on “the world’s most elusive terrorist” is coming to Showtime.

Based on the manhunt for the military chief and founding member of the Lebanon Islamic Jihad Organization, Imad Mughniyeh, the spy series Ghosts of Beirut will premiere Sunday, May 21 at 10/9am (and make its streaming/on-demand debut two days earlier on Friday, May 19).

The series – from Fauda creators Avi Issacharoff and Lior Raz – reveals “the origins of 21-year-old Mughniyeh (aka ‘The Ghost’), who emerged from the darkness and was responsible for more American deaths before 9/11 than any other person. Told from American, Israeli and Lebanese perspectives, the series traces Mughniyeah’s origins from the Shia slums of South Beirut to his mastermind of the concept of suicide bombing, a deadly tactic that led to his rapid rise to become the world’s most dangerous terrorist it the official synopsis.

Committed from script to series, the project focuses on a middle-level executive who has a panic attack at work and then decides to change her life to be happier.
