God Of War Ragnarok was recently rated by the South Korean Game Rating and Administration Committee. This could indicate that the game is nearing completion and we could see a release sometime this year. The game was previously scheduled for release in 2021 but was pushed back to summer 2022.
It is possible that the release date will be pushed up after the rating has been announced. As a point of reference, ratings for two other PlayStation 4 exclusives, namely Horizon: Forbidden West and The Last of Us Part II, were submitted less than four months before their respective releases. With the rating we could see that the game will be released between September and November of this year.
God Of War Ragnarok: Release This Year?
There haven’t been many updates to God Of Ragnarok this year. This caused fans of the series to worry that the game might not release this year. In response to all the speculation during the game’s 2018 four-year anniversary, Cory Barlog, the creative director at Santa Monica Studios, provided a response To update say the company is working hard on the game.
He added: “We are perfectionists. Everyone is refining the graphics on level three, there’s so much happening right now that I just wish we could share it with you, but it’s just not ready to show.”
The God Of War game released in 2018 was a direct continuation of Kratos’ story from the first three games. But this time the game was based on Norse mythology instead of Greek mythology. We were also introduced to his son Atreus the Game, who also possessed god-like powers. God Of War Ragnarok is a sequel to the 2018 game and will focus on Ragnarok, a mythical event that will bring about the end of days and the deaths of a number of Norse gods.
