Google Pixel 7a leaked renders hint at new color options: full details

Google’s not-yet-announced Pixel 7a has appeared in the rumor mill several times. That includes a more recent leak where a tipster claimed to have a proper handy tip on even more details in the process. While we await the expected launch at the upcoming Google I/O 2023 event, now there is another leak that suggests the smartphone’s color options or finishes in detailed renderings, leaving little to the imagination.

Tipster @OnLeaks has partnered with MySmartPrice to reveal what are expected to be three color options for the upcoming Pixel 7a. While the outgoing Pixel 6a is currently available in Chalk, Charcoal, and Sage finishes, the upcoming model is expected to come in Blue, White, and Gray color options. The actual names of the surfaces were not revealed in the leak, which also shows the different colors in detailed renderings.

While the Pixel 6a’s charcoal and chalk colors appear a little similar to the gray and white finishes of the Pixel 7a, the new blue finish is quite different. The new blue option looks like a bright sky blue and will certainly stand out as a unique color option for this year’s affordable Pixel, similar to the Pixel 6a’s Sage finish.

Although several blue options have been offered in the past, such as the first Pixel’s Really Blue, the Pixel 2’s Kinda Blue and the Pixel 3a’s violet finish, this is the first time we’ve seen a lighter sky-blue option in the Pixel lineup. Newer models have typically come in greenish hues like Hazel (Pixel 7 Pro), Lemongrass (Pixel 7), and Sorta Seafoam (Pixel 6).

While the new leak also shows the same thing in detailed renders of the Pixel 7a, a previous leak suggested the phone will instead be available in five finishes. The previous report indicated that the phone will come in a 256GB storage variant and will have five color options – Dinuguan Black, Crispy Kale, Mayo Cream, Tide Orange and Vibrant Ube.

Another leak, which turned out to be our first official look at the device, suggested a design very similar to the outgoing Pixel 7 model. Aside from confirming the new design for the revamped camera module, the source also hinted that the phone will have an aluminum frame but with a glass back panel, as opposed to the Pixel 6a’s polycarbonate screen, which we didn’t like in our review.

A more recent report also suggested that the estimated price of the Pixel 7a should be between $450 and $500 (roughly Rs.32,000 to Rs.40,000). A similar leak from a reliable source also hinted that the Pixel 7a would be available in 128GB and 256GB storage options and would come in Arctic Blue, Carbon, Cotton and Jade colorways. The phone is expected to be updated to the latest Tensor G2 processor, like the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro models launched last year.
