Hearts struck from serious injuries ahead of the Rangers Cup final during the season-ending game

Hearts’ Liam Boyce has to be substituted injured in the Cinch Premiership game against Rangers.

The Jambos were playing Rangers at Tynecastle – a dress rehearsal for the spectacle at Hampden next weekend – when the Northern Irishman fell into the corner after just 12 minutes with what appeared to be a groin injury.

Boyce was treated by the Hearts medical team before limping away to be replaced by Josh Ginnelly.

The 31-year-old is a key part of the Hearts forward line and, if fit, would be one of the first names on manager Robbie Neilson’s squad list for the cup final.

The Gorgie squad, who were only proud to have already taken third place, will now spend the next few days assessing Boyce’s condition, hoping he can recover by next Saturday.
