Hollow Knight Silksong’s development has been hit hard by the pandemic, reveals Geoff Keighley

In a recent interview, Geoff Keighley revealed that he spoke to Team Cherry, the developer behind it Hollow Knight Silksongand he believes the game has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Geoff Keighly was recently interviewed by Gamespot and answered a number of questions about his personal life and favorites, although one of the questions was something many players would like to know more about: what’s up with him Hollow Knight Silksong Development?

Although Geoff Keighly clarified that he has no information on where the game is now and when it may be ready for release, he did provide some information on the difficulties development has faced over the past few years.

The COVID pandemic should be the only big reason we haven’t heard from Hollow Knight Silksong in a while

Geoff Keighley revealed he’s been in talks with Team Cherry and he believes the studio has been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing them to slow down the development process and take their time.

Last time we saw something official Hollow Knight Silksong was back in 2019. However, Team Cherry co-director William Pellen revealed in an interview with PC Gamer in February 2022 that development was still ongoing and the team would share new details about the project as it neared its launch.

Hollow Knight Silksong was originally unveiled in 2019. The game is currently aiming for a launch on PC and Nintendo Switch. There is no information if it would be available on other platforms after launch, but the original is Hollow Knight was released on PS4 and Xbox One almost a year after launching on PC.
