Holly Willoughby has been told not to wear a bra by children’s TV bosses in a new misogyny row
HOLLY Willoughby was told by TV bosses to go braless on a children’s show early in her career.
TV bosses are now embroiled in a new row over misogyny after it emerged the This Morning presenter was told it would make her “more attractive” to viewers.

A close friend of the star said this Post on Sunday that he had expressed concerns to a senior employee at the time.
He said: “Before I even knew who Holly was, I saw her without a bra and asked a director who she was and why she was dressed like that.”
“I said she needs to put a bra on, it was on children’s TV.
“Sometime later I reminded Holly and she said she didn’t have to wear a bra and that the shows weren’t really for children.
“It was pretty amazing that that happened.”
A TV insider added that it was just “the way it was back then.”
“The young women were told what to wear and they didn’t say no,” they explained. “As with many other industries, television was overwhelmingly run by men, employing young, fairly ambitious women who had to do what they were told.”
The insider continued: “It was completely misogynistic.”
The Sun has contacted Willoughby’s representatives for comment.
Willoughby began her television career with appearances on S Club TV and Ministry of Mayhem.
She became a household name in 2006 when she began hosting Dancing On Ice with Phillip Schofield.
Three years later she got her dream job when she was hired as co-host of This Morning alongside Schofield following the departure of Fern Britton.
She is now one of the most sought-after television presenters in the UK and was named the most influential presenter on British television earlier this year.
The television doyenne is now worth an estimated £20 million and can boast lucrative commercial deals.
Willoughby is now known for her beautiful outfit choices, which she shows off every day on Instagram.
