House of the Dragon Ratings: HBO’s Biggest Series Premiere Ever

In HBO’s personal Game of Thrones, house of the dragon is already king.

Nearly 10 million viewers (9.986 million, to be precise) watched Sunday night’s premiere of the Game of Thrones prequel across linear and HBO Max platforms in the US house of the dragon the largest premiere audience for a new original series in the network’s history.

“It was wonderful to see millions of them game of Thrones Fans are returning to Westeros with us last night,” HBO and HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys said in a statement. “house of the dragon has an incredibly talented cast and crew who put their heart and soul into the production and we’re thrilled with the positive response from viewers. We look forward to sharing with audiences what else George, Ryan and Miguel have in store for them this season.”

Additionally, the library of Game of Thrones original episodes just wrapped up its strongest week yet on HBO Max ahead of the premiere of House of the Dragon, capping a seven-week span of week-over-week growth. The weekly average for Game of Thrones viewers in August so far is almost 90 percent up on June and almost 50 percent up on July.
