Episode 6 of house of the dragon featured a 10-year time jump that might be irritating to some viewers. The characters are in very different narrative locations than last week, and several actors have been changed. Episode 6 feels like a whole new season for house of the dragonand Emma D’Arcy, who plays the older Rhaenyra Targaryen, understands when audiences aren’t fans of the time warp rewrite.

Many fans were disappointed to say goodbye to Milly Alcock and Emily Carey, who played Rhaenyra and Alicent Hightower in the first five episodes of House of the Dragon. Episode 6 contains a long time warp, meaning Rhaenyra and Alicent are older and would look very different than they did in Episode 5. D’Arcy and Olivia Cooke make their debut in Episode 6 as older versions of these characters.
