This is only the second game between the teams to take place. The only other encounter there was in the semi-finals of the 1959/60 European Cup semi-finals. Rangers defeated Anderlecht, FK Inter Bratislava (then known as Red Star Bratislava) and Sparta Rotterdam to reach the last four. However, the Ibrox side lost to the Germans, losing 3-6 and 1-6 to go down 12-4 on aggregate.

Rangers will be without Alfredo Morelos and Filip Helander in the final. Aaron Ramsey is fit again and Ianis Hagi dropped a hint that he might be available but that’s one that could well be unlikely. Kemar Roofe gave fans a massive boost of be out with the squad before the game.

Eintracht has to do without the injured Diant Ramaj and Martin Hinteregger. Stefan Ilsanker and Erik Durm are not eligible to play. There are doubts about Danny da Costa.

Rangers, even after sending out Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig in the preliminary round, were originally seen by data experts as the team most likely to lose in the final. However, that has changed with the Ibrox side a probability of success of 53 percent is awarded. The bookmakers still have Eintracht as favorites.

Meanwhile, thousands of Rangers fans are making their way to Seville, one way or another. Many go the conventional route, by flying to the southern Spanish city or to other cities in the country. Others drive or take the bus. Some have to fly to destinations across Europe and Africa to then fly to Seville.
