Huntington Beach and Seal Beach are closing beaches after lightning was spotted in the area

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KABC) — Beaches in at least two Orange County cities were closed Tuesday after lightning was spotted in the area.
The city of Huntington Beach announced around 4:30 p.m. that it would be closing its beaches and piers. No injuries were reported.
A short time later, the city of Seal Beach also announced that it would close its beaches.
At 5:10 p.m. Huntington Beach announced it would reopen the beach and pier.
The closures came as rain and thunderstorms returned to the Southern California area. A flash flood watch was issued for parts of Antelope Valley and the mountains of Los Angeles County.
