“I never thought of playing anywhere else,” says the Celtic player with stamina

His club’s title-winning season hasn’t been particularly kind to the minute-playing winger. But he trumped those numbers with numbers that were more telling when he recently signed a new contract that will run until 2025. He’s the last man from very different times at Celtic, making his senior debut in 2010. And Forrest’s staying power and one-club status have come to prominence in a week that has seen the club’s second-oldest players, Nir Bitton and Tom Rogic has decided to move on. That’s a day a big man doesn’t seem to think about. An attacker who was dubbed “my kind of player” by Ange Postecoglou as he expressed his satisfaction at extending a stay that could make him the most decorated player in Celtic history, the latest title his 20th major Honor.

“I’ll be 31 in July but I’m still feeling good,” he said. “I train every day and the manager and new players have kept it fresh. I have the feeling that I can still do something. That was a big thing for me – I want to play under the pressure that Celtic bring. I never wanted to leave here, I never thought of playing anywhere else. “I’ve loved every minute of this season because of the way the manager likes to play. He was a big part of me that wanted to stay. He wanted me to stay and we had a good chat about it. I’m really excited to play more games under him and keep learning. [When it comes to Tom Rogic and Nir Bitton leaving] I am very close to both of them, Tom here for nine and a half years and Niro for nine years. It’s to their credit, both foreign boys who came here at a young age and had to adapt. They’ve had some good times here and are going full steam ahead.”
