This article contains spoilers for the fifth season of yellowstone
Hello yellowstone Fans, we’re two days away from the midseason finale of Taylor Sheridan’s number one cowboy drama and knee-deep at the cable network’s Paramount New Year’s Celebration Marathon. Needless to say, we’re dealing with Dutton right now, and it’s a cozy place to stay. It’s also somewhat unsettling as we look to the future and remember that Jamie Dutton will soon lead the charge against his father, the governor of Montana. Look at a brighter side of the yellowstone Equation, Ian Bohen recently spoke about his character’s romance this season and how nice of a situation it was to be a part of it. Lainey Wilson acted out his on-screen romance, and they were a match made in heaven, and a big reason fans loved watching the show this season. diversity also gave a shout out yellowstone for his continued dominance of the entertainment network. You know what to do if you have a lot to unpack today: grab your Dutton-loving bestie and a drink to enjoy because we’re celebrating our entrance.
Ian Bohen talks about love at the ranch
Ian Bohen spoke recently Weekly entertainment about his character Ryan and the love he shared with Abby, played by Lainey Wilson. The two had magnetic chemistry from the moment they met, and it was refreshing to see Ryan, the usually strong, quiet guy, find love and romance in season five. We had hoped for lasting love for these two, but with a big journey on the horizon, Abby told Ryan his decision to leave meant she wouldn’t wait, but we can still hope, right?
Bohen said it was special to see that side of his character.
“Yes, it’s exciting to see someone in love and caring for someone else and to see them caring about that person. You get to see a different side, from the rough-hewn cowboys who get into bar fights to someone who wants to be with a partner. For me as an actor, it was just an absolute delight to have this new arena that I could literally and figuratively dance on while Lainey played her. i love their music I love their spirit or energy and I’m a big fan of their work. Having her as my girlfriend was just so much fun and I couldn’t get enough.”
As their conversation wrapped, Ian Bohen predicted a dance-free future at Yellowstone Dutton Ranch, and fans should heed his warning. The way Bohen phrased that last statement was perhaps something to gloss over if you’re not a dedicated fan, but those watching the Duttons with eagle eyes know what he says is a stern warning to viewers is: don’t expect a happy ending in the second half of season five.
“That’s what people do when they’re happy and cheerful again, they dance. I can’t imagine you’ll see much dancing in the second half of season 5, which we call 5b. I predict this will sadly be cheerless, but you’ll love to see it.
We love yellowstone‘s ups and downs, but we feel a bleak second half of the season means we’ll be watching with more dread than before. It’s time to grab yours yellowstone-loving beast and your choice of drink, because we need both.
yellowstone still tops Variety’s most watched list
The Dutton family saga consistently offers fans unmissable storylines, diverse characters and scenes that make us feel everything from sheer exhilaration to heartbreak, often all wrapped up in one episode. Showrunner Taylor Sheridan knows the perfect formula for selling an authentic Western drama story, and yellowstone continues to wow audiences as one of television’s most-watched shows.
diversity notes that yellowstone tops the list when it comes to non-sports TV shows. The series is Paramount’s number one series and continues to be a powerhouse across the entertainment spectrum. Variety shares that of the top 10 places in entertainment, yellowstone Episodes owned five of these; it’s the Dutton magic.
“The Paramount Network Juggernaut is still going strong. Kevin Costner & Co. have beaten every show on TV and been on the most-watched non-sports, non-Oscar television show of the year: The Season 4 finale of “Yellowstone” on Jan. 2, which averaged 13.1 million spectators had . The show holds five of the top 10 entertainment slots by total viewers – and five of the top 10 slots in 18-49.”
No matter what made you do it yellowstone First, the magic of the characters and their story is probably what keeps you here. The power of Beth, the quiet demeanor of Colby, the strength of John and the charisma of Kayce kept audiences hooked and we can’t get enough. As the story grows more complex and life-or-death situations occur almost constantly, we’re learning that the semblance of comfort our most beloved characters knew is falling apart, and we’re still trying to figure out how they’ll get it back.
Season five wraps up half of its story with a midseason finale on New Year’s Day, and we’ll have to wait a few months to find out what’s next for those we love (and loathe) most.
Fans hope for flashbacks of this character
One thing fans love the most yellowstone are the flashbacks shared in the series that give us a glimpse of who our characters used to be. We saw young John Dutton on several occasions and learned more about the ups and downs of his life and the loves and losses he endured. We’ve seen young Beth, Jamie, Rip, and several ranch hands, but fans want to see more of the story of one particular character: Kayce Dutton.
Fans have seen two scenes from Kayce’s past, but they’re nothing like the flashbacks we’ve seen for some of the other characters on the show.
Many fans agree, saying that for whatever reason, Kayce’s potential has still not been fully realized. Some say it feels like the series has taken a new direction, and others agree, while also saying a key relationship for Kayce has still never really been opened up: that between himself and his sister, Beth.
This fan brings up the excellent point that Kayce has been through a lot and maybe his story is right here. He tries to understand everything around him while dealing with what happened to him in his past.
Fans are hoping we see more of Kayce’s SEAL flashbacks, and while we’ve seen one on his vision quest, they’re looking for more insight and a deeper dive into his time on missions and how they changed him.
As fans recall, although it wasn’t a flashback/vision, Kayce told his father a story about his time as a SEAL that was very intense. We’re sure most of his story would be difficult to watch.
It’s clear that fans love Kayce and we hope to learn more of his backstory in future episodes, but we’re also focusing on who he is now. Especially after the early loss of his son, we’re excited to see what the future holds for Kayce, Monica and Tate. You can catch up on all things Dutton during the New Year’s celebration, which is happening now, and by streaming the first four seasons on Peacock.
Yellowstone’s The midseason finale airs January 1st and you won’t want to miss it.
