Dancing with the stars Per, Cheryl Burke has a remarkable history with the competitive series. She was the first female Pro winner in Season 2, aided by a second mirror ball in Season 3. The demands of being a pro are many and can take their toll on even the most prepared dancer. Burke, however, struggles with body image and body dysmorphia, and believes true body appreciation will come “when I don’t have to put my ass in a dance costume.”

Cheryl Burke made them DWTS Debuting in 2006, she won season two alongside 98 Degrees singer Drew Lachey and season three with football player Emmitt Smith.
Burke has appeared in more seasons of the show than any other dancer, 24 of the show’s 30 seasons to date. However, she has only won the competition twice. Burke reached the finals several times and placed second in seasons 8 and 13 with Gilles Marini and Rob Kardashian. In season 30, Burke and Cody Rigsby placed third.
Cheryl Burke said she’ll be more accepting of her body if she doesn’t have to do it for DWTS
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Burke claimed that body image issues and dysmorphia continue to plague her. She revealed that not having to do that one thing might make her more accepting of her strong body DWTS Professional.
Burke told the news outlet she was considering the big picture of her future, including the possibility of pregnancy.
“I would prefer not to have to put on a dance costume and just gain weight,” Burke shared.
Burke’s experiences with body image further influenced her. “I think I’ll start loving my body more if I don’t have to put my ass in a dance costume. So right now [the possibility of getting pregnant] is on hold.”

The official list of season 31 pros is still a closely guarded secret.
Burke hasn’t revealed if she plans to return as a dancer on the Disney+ streamer.
However, she is not “considering” returning to the series.
“Where I am right now, I’m not thinking about it right now. Because if I do another season Dancing with the stars, I have to do it when the time comes,” Burke said. “Whether this will be my last season or not, I don’t know.”
Dancing with the stars returns for Season 31 on Disney+ starting September 19.
