Director Kitty Green and Julia Garner meet again in the first trailer for Neon’s upcoming Australian thriller The Royal Hotelwhich debuted as part of the 48th edition of the Toronto International Film Festival before hitting theaters on October 6th. Green made her directorial debut with The assistant in 2019 a film that had that ozark Star as the leading actor. In this film, Garner plays Jane, a woman who lands her dream job as a personal assistant to a powerful entertainment mogul. But her dream turns into a nightmare when she is mistreated at her workplace. Following similar beats, The Royal Hotel Plus, Garner’s character will do something she’s always wanted, and the story will take another dark turn.

The Royal Hotel tells the story of two friends, Hanna (Garner) and Liv (Jessica Henwick), who are backpacking around Australia when they run out of money. In these circumstances, they try to survive by taking temporary jobs, seeing the situation as a good opportunity to learn about the local culture. Soon they’re working in the bar of the Royal Hotel in a small outback mining town. Unfortunately, what seemed like a good idea turns into hell as both women are constantly harassed by customers while the boss does nothing. The situation quickly escalates and Liv and Hanna find themselves trapped in a nightmare that they can’t seem to get out of.

Julia Garner’s journey to becoming one of Hollywood’s newest obsessions
Although she is only 29 years old, Garner has already had a long and varied career since she began acting in 2011. She collected important and celebrated titles such as The American, Girl or The coming downShe has always managed to stand out, especially on television. For this reason, she took the big step to becoming a world-famous star thanks to Netflix and the hit drama ozarkwith a large portion of the audience considering her performance to be the best of the series.
Thanks to the show’s success, Garner landed a much more relevant role in another original production on the streaming platform. Invent Anna. However, the series did not enjoy the same good response as ozark did, the actress once again demonstrated her versatility and great acting skills.
Garner will soon star in Natalie Erika James’ upcoming horror film. Apartment 7which will reportedly serve as a prequel to the 1968 classic, Rosemary’s baby. The film also stars Dianne Wiest, Jim Sturgess, Marli Siu, Kevin McNally and Rosy McEwen. The story focuses on a young dancer who rents a room from an old couple.
As for her co-star The Royal Hotel, Jessica Henwick, it’s worked out pretty well over the last few years too. The actress has been a part of some big franchises like war of stars, the defenders, game of Thrones, The Matrix, Blade Runner and recently knife outas part of the ensemble cast in the sequel, released by Netflix last year.
