Internet blocks man for saying he will get his wife back after giving birth

The internet turned off a new dad after he said during labor he was looking forward to “getting his wife back”.
A woman posted to Reddit’s r/AmITeA**hole forum shared her story with the AITA community under the username u/milesawayfromshore to see if she was wrong in kicking her husband out of the delivery room . The viral post has 6,000 upvotes and 2,000 comments.
The Redditor began her story by explaining that she and her husband had just had a baby girl. In the delivery room, she wrote that she was in great pain and that her husband was very supportive. During labor, the midwife asked the Redditor and husband questions about the baby as a distraction.
There are many ways to help your partner give birth. According to Verywellfamily.com, a good way to relieve your partner’s stress is by rubbing their temples. Another way to support your partner during labor is to put something cool on their neck and face. At the end of labor, place a heating pad on her back or limbs.

She wrote: “Then when we’re excited she said the pregnancy is over and I said yes because it was hard for me. My hisband snorted and said, ‘It was such a difficult subject for me too, but I asked my husband what the heck he means by that and he said he’s glad it’s over and he’s getting his wife back and ‘ the hormonal chaos is over’.”
She was taken aback by his comment and asked him to leave the delivery room. He refused because he wanted to see the birth of his firstborn child.
“I yelled at him to get the shit out and he was mad, called me [a**hole] for missing the birth of his child and storming off. He wasn’t back to see our daughter, he’s supposed to come later today,” she concluded.
Followers of the popular Reddit forum defended the woman’s actions.
“Well if it means that much to him he could have acted like a supportive partner and kept his stupid, insulting and demeaning jokes to himself. Pregnancy is hard and any man who can’t show his wife the respect she deserves for what she’s done shouldn’t be in the delivery room,” u/Pleasant_Birthday_77 received the top comment with over 16,000 upvotes.
“[Not the A**hole] You just became human! You just gave birth to a human! He had an orgasm and held your hand. These efforts are in no way comparable,” said u/winsomebunny.
U/justsaygay exclaimed: “Boy will be surprised to find out hormones don’t magically go back to ‘normal’ after childbirth. You are [Not the A**hole], OP. I hope he learns something from this and becomes more supportive and less judgmental.”
“[Not the A**hole] He was rude and clueless. If he really believes that all hormonal changes will just disappear once the baby pops out, he’s terribly mistaken. Congratulations on your new baby, sorry your husband screwed up so much when you needed him,” wrote u/CrystalQueen3000.
