Clint Eastwood’s death hoax, explained
The latest false claim about Eastwood’s death, according to Snopes, comes from a video uploaded to YouTube channel Military News titled “5 minutes ago / Clint Eastwood died on the way to the hospital / Goodbye Clint Eastwood” (via Yahoo! Entertainment). The article rated the claim about Eastwood’s death as “false.” The Military News has a reputation for publishing more videos with death rumors in the past week alone, such as those about actor Denzel Washington and singer Randy Travis.
However, other than that, no other reputable news outlet has independently confirmed Eastwood’s alleged death, and The Associated Press has not published an obituary at all on its website, which would be expected if this information were true. Since there is no other corroborating article from a source known to be reliable, we can safely assume that this information is not true.
Another website, MediaMass, also published an article claiming that Eastwood had died. However, the website describes itself as satire and is therefore clearly not to be understood as a factual source.
As for what’s next for Eastwood, the rumored title is his upcoming final film and 40th directorial effort Juror #2. However, no release date or time frame has been announced for the film.
