It’s all coming to Disney+ in December 2022

Disney is generally one of the companies that people think of when it comes to the holiday season, and the streaming service is certainly playing it up. Disney+ regularly has a section dedicated to Christmas content, which this year will surely highlight their new spinoff series The Santa Clauses, as well as movies like Home Alone.

But if you want to take a break from the Christmas log, Disney+ also plans to reveal its latest series based on a popular movie franchise. National Treasure: Edge of History translates the 2004 feature film starring Nicolas Cage and Diane Kruger for the television landscape. In the original series, Cage played a man searching for secret treasure related to the Declaration of Independence. The new series follows a young woman who receives a centuries-old clue that could be linked to her dead father. There is a powerhouse of talent ahead and behind the series, with Monsoon Wedding director Mira Nair directing the series, which will star Lisette Olivera and Catherine Zeta-Jones. Both Justin Bartha and Harvey Keitel will reprise their roles as Riley Poole and FBI Agent Peter Sadusky, respectively, from the feature films.

The first season will consist of 10 episodes and the first two will arrive on the service on December 14, with new episodes appearing weekly.
