It’s all coming to Hulu in December 2022

Christmas log is probably blaring on your TV screen fireplace – the holidays are just around the corner. Hulu is fully committed to their holiday content with some holiday features, including the debut of their original film, It’s a Wonderful Binge. But if you’re looking for a new television series to keep you busy until Christmas, it’s all about the adaptation of Octavia Butler’s Kindred, the first television translation of one of Butler’s acclaimed literary works, out this month on FX on Hulu.

Kindred is based on Butler’s 1979 novel and focuses on Dana James, a young black aspiring writer living in Los Angeles with her husband Kevin Franklin. During the move, Dana suddenly finds herself between the present day and 1815 Maryland during the antebellum period of the South. During her travels into the past, she struggles to survive while trapped on a plantation owned by the wealthy Weylin family, and eventually uncovers shocking secrets about her own family history.

All eight episodes of Kindred’s first season premiere on Hulu on December 13.
