Just when you thought about the demands James Gunn To introduce the first wave of DCU projects that couldn’t get any louder, the United States government decided to get involved. Or at least one of its members.

Long Beach Congressman Robert Garcia took it upon himself to threaten The Suicide Squad and peacemaker Creators with an official hearing if the announcement isn’t made by the end of the month, which happens to be the end of tomorrow. Needless to say, Washington’s speech caught the filmmaker’s attention.

Gunn has reiterated almost daily that the big reveal is definitely coming before February, meaning he has less than 48 hours to deliver. After confirming for the umpteenth time that he has not changed his mind, Garcia responded with what could best be described as a less than stately reaction.

Make no mistake, DCU bombshell-dropping Gunn is set to be by far the biggest pop culture talking point of the week, especially when it comes to who’s in and who’s out. Zachary Levi’s recent controversial comments about Pfizer have already sparked a conspiracy theory claiming he knows he’s being cast aside as the next big star, but that remains to be seen.

It’s going to be a momentous week for the comics company in more ways than one, though you could set your watch for a wave of angry backlash and negativity to surface the second the franchise’s new era begins to take shape.
