Trump is suing the Jan. 6 committee, trying to block a subpoena

WASHINGTON– The Jan. 6 committee is preparing to urge the Justice Department to prosecute former President Donald Trump during his business meeting Monday, sources familiar with the matter told ABC News.

The committee has been debating the move for months and it is largely symbolic.

Obstruction of an official process and conspiracy to defraud the United States are two charges the committee plans to include in its criminal referral, according to sources familiar with the matter.

Another discussion is the uprising, the sources said.

The charges in question were first reported by Politically.

This is an evolving story. Please check back for updates.
