Jane Fonda has started chemotherapy after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, the actress announced in an Instagram post on Friday.

“This is a very treatable cancer,” he said Grace and Frankie star writes. “[80 percent] of people survive, so I feel very lucky. I’m also fortunate to have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments. I recognize, and it is painful, that I am privileged in this. “I’m doing chemo for [six] Months and doing quite well with the treatments and believe me I will not let this interfere with my climate activism,” she continues. “Cancer is a teacher and I pay attention to the lessons it teaches me. One thing it has already shown me is the importance of community. Growing and deepening our own community so that we are not alone. And cancer, along with my age — almost 85 — definitely teaches the importance of adapting to new realities.”

Fonda concludes, “We are living through the most momentous time in human history, as what we do or don’t do now will determine what kind of future there will be, and I will not let cancer stop me from doing everything.” do what i can, with every tool in my toolbox. … The midterms are upon us, and they are more than momentous, so count on me to be with you as we grow our army of climate champions.”
