Josh Hartnett once said it’s easy to fantasize about co-stars on movie sets
Actor Josh Hartnett has worked with several co-stars throughout his long career. But the superstar also admitted that the nature of her work made it easy to develop fantasies about her partners.
However, he strongly advised against a relationship with the same co-stars.

Oppenheimer Star Josh Hartnett is used to dating co-stars. Early in his career, the actor was linked to former co-stars such as Scarlett Johansson and Kirsten Dunst. Hartnett once confided that he was attracted to some of his former girlfriends because he bonded with them on set.
“They’re the ones I’m drawn to because I share experiences with them and understand a little bit of what they are and what they do,” he once said in an interview with playboy (via Yahoo). “If I could go back in time, I don’t know if I could have done anything differently.”
However, he also acknowledged that dating co-stars when he was younger wasn’t exactly his wisest decision.
“I think it’s a respectable way of going about it. I’ve met very important people in my life through filmmaking,” he said. “Sometimes there were consequences that were just awful for everyone involved. Some were awesome all the way. Everyone makes mistakes when they date people they work with.”
Josh Hartnett advised other actors not to meet co-stars
Hartnett, who was on hiatus from acting, wouldn’t recommend other young actors follow in his footsteps when it comes to dating. That Halloween H2O Star felt this could jeopardize her career in the long run if they weren’t careful.
“You can make a lot of enemies with that in business,” Hartnett once said in an interview ell (via Contact Music).
At the same time, however, he admitted how easy it was to fall in love with someone an actor works with frequently. Especially since actors like Hartnett were able to develop certain ideals about their co-stars.
“But when you work with someone every day, it’s like try dating. You develop a fantasy about her. It doesn’t always work out,” Hartnett added.

Hartnett surmised that jealousy was one of the reasons his relationships with famous actors didn’t go the distance. The star shared that actors who witnessed their partner being intimate with other actors in films had affected several previous relationships.
“It’s difficult to see your better half in the arms of a beautiful actress,” he once said In contact (via the list). : It’s hard to say, ‘Oh, this is just work.’ It is, but you’re on site with this other person for months, so there’s envy.”
Nowadays, however, the dime novel star doesn’t have to worry about the problems that often come with dating. People reported not long ago that Hartnett recently married Tamsin Egerton, a friend he dated for a decade before their marriage. The two met on the set of The loving ones in 2011 and have been an item ever since. The couple also have three children together, who gave birth to their youngest child in 2019.
