Justice Alito accused of being SCOTUS ‘leaker’ according to new report: ‘Shame’

Deputy Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has been called a “disgrace” after a new report revealed he allegedly leaked a draft opinion related to a SCOTUS decision in 2014.

“The Supreme Court leaker – for Dobbs and Hobby Lobby – was Samuel Alito. Alito is a disgrace to this nation and as dangerous as any terrorist. He must be expelled from the court,” political commentator Keith Olbermann tweeted on Saturday.

Meanwhile, New York representative Mondaire Jones tweeted: “Today’s well-sourced New York Times article strongly suggests that Judge Alito leaked 2014 opinion in Hobby Lobby, describing a conspiracy by the far-right donor class to influence Supreme Court justices. The House Judiciary Committee needs to look into this while we still can.”

Olbermann and Jones referred to a Saturday report by The New York Times It said Alito was allegedly responsible for divulging the majority opinion in the 2014 case Burwell vs. Hobby Lobby.

He said in the letter that a donor from a nonprofit he runs in Washington, DC, informed him that she and her husband were being invited to a private dinner with Alito at his home and that while she was there she would be sharing information about the outcome of the Hobby Lobby Falls got this visit.

“We spoke on the phone and she explained the disclosure in detail. As we recall, we spoke about the Green family, owners of Hobby Lobby, and how they too would be interested in this information,” Schenck wrote.

Schenck, a former anti-abortion leader and evangelical minister, said he should speak out now and discuss his attempts to influence the Supreme Court, the sources said Times.

“Considering that whoever is responsible for the initial leak of the most recent draft opinion may face a severe fine, I thought this earlier incident might require some thought from you and others involved in the process. Of course I would be happy to cooperate fully if you find any value in other details I have submitted here,” Schenck wrote in the letter.

The allegations against Alito continued to spark criticism from MSNBC host Chris Hayes online All in with Chris Hayestweeted: “This is really, really shocking stuff. It also seems like someone is definitely lying outright, and one of the people who might just be lying outright is Alito.”

Meanwhile Sawyer Hackett, co-host of Our America Podcast, wrote: “Ted Cruz has been ranting about the Dobbs leak for weeks, writing an op-ed piece calling it an ‘leftist attack on the Supreme Court.’ Today we found out about *another* leak of an Alito opinion – will he have anything to say?”

“If the substantive allegations of Alito licking against one of the Dem. tweeted.

“It is so clear that Justice Alito is corrupt and SCOTUS as an institution is compromised. This is not a legitimate court making decisions. It is an extreme right organ that follows only outcome-determining logic and not any reasoned jurisprudence,” Twitter user Alejandra Caraballo tweeted.
